The week of talks to resolve the secessionist uprising in Cameroon’s English-speaking regions ended with allegations that the entire exercise had been undermined by the lack of a neutral facilitator and refusal to examine demands for a transition to a federal system.

President Paul Biya said that the proposals selected in the dialogue will be taken into account. This includes encouraging English-speaking residents to choose their local officials.
